Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo's Wedding

The big day has arrived! After 7 years of engagement, Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo were married yesterday in a civil ceremony at the Grimaldi Palace.
The celebrations began in the morning at 'Fairmont Hotel, where Paola Marzotto, mother of the bride, celebrated the event with a breakfast on the terrace.

Beatrice arrived at the palace at the edge of a white Bentley that belongs to the collection of vintage cars of Pierre. A fleeting passage, which reveals only the hair in a high chignon, a pair of fingerless gloves, a ribbon around her neck and a bouquet of white flowers and ears of wheat.

Among the guests: the sisters of the bride, Lavinia, Matilda and Isabella with husband John Elkann, Antonio Von Furstenberg and Ugo Brachetti Peretti, her grandmother, the designer Marta Marzotto, Charlotte Casiraghi with Gad Elmaleh and their son Raphael, Andrea Casiraghi, Tatiana Santo Domingo and Sasha, some colleagues of the bride, Peter Gomez and Marco Travaglio. It seems that Princess Charlene has not participated in the event even if ome newspapers say that she was there, but not photographed .....

No hat for Beatrice's mom. Princess Caroline wore a pale yellow dress and Charlotte Casiraghi wore a red and white dress by Missoni. Here you can see a VIDEO of Beatrice's arrival at the palace and some guests

The ceremony began at noon, and was reserved, only 70 guests including family members and close friends of the couple. Beatrice wore a long pink dress, very romantic with beautiful embroidery on the shoulders.

After the civil ceremony the bride and groom wore typical costume Monegasque, as well as most of the guests wore the colors of their country of origin.

You can see some pictures of the bride, the guests and the picnic in the gardens of Grimaldi Palace HERE
At the Picnic in the Provencal style were invited about 700 people, there were music and performances of local folklore. A desire for Pierre, who dreamed of a party like those he saw as a child, when he lived in Provence with his brothers and his mother, after his father's death.

The wedding list is quite extravagant and for all budgets, with a nutcracker 565 €, a number of erotic books, the pair of flamingos salt and pepper 100 € and a wet bar, value 13,000 €. The couple gave, as an option, the account number of the AMADE foundation children's charity. The organisation was created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1963,  Princess Caroline is currently president. The couple would like the proceeds from this "wedding gift" to help a project that supports disadvantaged children.

In the evening, spouses and guests are transferred to the 'Hotel de Paris in Monaco where it was held a gala dinner in honor of the newlyweds.

Pierre and Beatrice arrived on the same car that had accompanied her in the morning.  Video of their arrival HERE

To the evening Beatrice has changed dress for the third time, she wore another dress by Valentino, this time she wore a sleeveless white / silver gown with very pale blue clouds.

At the same time in Monaco was held the Monaco Red Cross Gala.
Prince Albert and Princess Charlene not attended at the gala event for Pierre and Beatrice because they attended the Red Cross Gala.

The religious ceremony will take place next Saturday, August 1st. The newlyweds will say again "yes" in Italy, on Lake Maggiore.

It will be a more intimate ceremony, followed by a big party at the Rock of Angera, which, on this occasion, will be closed to visitors from July 30 to Sunday, August 2nd.  The party has just begun!!!

Summer Photocall 2015 - Grasten Castle.

Another year and another Summer Photoshoot comes! This morning the Royal Danish family held the annual photoshoot  at Grasten Castle. This time my expectations were a little disappointed .... everyone seemed a little bored, usually there is  more fun on this occasion, perhaps it was because of the absence of the family of Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, Little Josephine with a broken arm ... or maybe because of the weather, this morning there was a light rain.

Actually it seems really strange to me that Joachim and Marie were not present. Even Princess Benedikte was not present this time.
Instead, the Royal family has been accompanied by Princess Alexandra and her husband, the Count Jefferson von Pfeil und Klein-Ellguth.
Princess Alexandra is the first daughter and second of three children of Princess Benedikte of Denmark. Queen Margarethe is her Godmother.

Mary wore a long blue skirt and a white shirt, usually on this occasion Mary choose comfortable clothes and practical, we have often seen wonderful and colored maxi dress on her (I love to wear the maxi dress in summer!!!)
The children were lovely, as always! Prince Christian and Prince Vincent had fun playing with dogs (I suspect that the dogs had fun more)

You can see a beautiful gallery here

In 1950, when King Gustav V died, the palace was inherited by his nephew, King Carl XVI Gustaf.  The palace is situated on the island of Öland in southern Sweden along its Balitic coast.

                                                                       Belgian Royal Family

Ciergnon Castle

Ciergnon Castle, or the Royal Castle of Ciergnon (Château Royal de Ciergnon; Koninklijk kasteel van Ciergnon) is a residence and summer retreat of the Belgian Royal Family situated near the town of Ciergnon in the municipality of Houyet, province of Namur. The castle is a property of the Belgian Royal Trust.

The domain with its woods, river and vast hunting grounds was acquired in 1840 by King Leopold I of Belgium at the request of his spouse Queen Louise-Marie. At first a hunting lodge was erected on a beautiful terrace overlooking a deep forested valley. The present château was erected only later on the demand of King Leopold II of Belgium. The edifice was designed by his court architect Alphonse Balat. Since then it has always served as a holiday retreat to the Royal Family. In 1960 it was the venue for the press presentation of King Baudouin's fiancé Dona Fabiola de Mora y Aragon.

More recently the children of Philippe, King of the Belgians, Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eléonore were baptised in the chapel of the château. (Wikipedia)

                                                                            Dutch royal family
- Rocca dei Dragoni

In 1975, Princess Beatrix and Prince Claus purchased an old Tuscan farmhouse that belonged to the Earl Vicini, the Earl still keeps good terms with Royal Family. Rocca dei Dragoni is located in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Italy, a beautiful medieval village between Siena and Florence, surrounded by huge vineyards that are used for the production of the famous Chianti. The Dutch Royal Family also owns 80 hectares of olive trees

Today the house is owned by all three children of the Princess Beatrix, after the death of Prince Friso the property passed to the daughters of the Prince. In 1988 Princess Beatrix became an honorary citizen of Tavernelle di Pesa

King Willem Alexander often said that the house is "an oasis of peace."
He and his family have spent part of their summer holidays to Rocca dei Draghi, it seems to be a beloved destination also by Princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.
King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima, during the holidays, teach their children cultural activities in Tuscany. Culture is richly available in the Italian region, with Florence just around the corner.
"We do a lot of walks, the flora and fauna here is very different." "The princesses say this is much better than in the Netherlands"  the King said.

You can find beautiful pictures of the place and of the Royal Family on holiday in Rocca dei Draghi here

That's all! Do you liked this trip through these beautiful summer residences? Well... let your comment!! ;)

Royal Summer Residences - Part I

Holiday time, that will soon come even for me! Some of our favorites Royals are already on vacation and others will do it soon. I decided to make a collection of the summer residences of some of the most important royal families.

                                                                     British royal family

The summer residence of Queen Elizabeth is Balmoral Castle in Scotland, usually between August and September the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh spend their holidays there.

The castle was built in 1390 around 1800 became property of King George VI in 1848 later it became a royal residence when Queen Victoria and Prince Consort Albert, decided to spend there their summer. The couple decided to expand the building, the foundation stone was laid by Queen Victoria of enlargement in 1853, today the stone is still low on the wall of the west, adjacent to the entrance door. The foundation stone was dug inside enough that it was possible put a bottle containing a document signed by the Queen and some coins.

Since many years the entire British royal family spends their holidays at Balmoral among picnics and long strolls

A nice video of the Queen with grandchildren at Balmoral:

                                                                     Danish Royal Family

Actually the Danish Royal family owns and uses more summer residences:

- Marselisborg Palace, the summer residence of The Queen and Prince Consort.

 -Grasten Castle

The current main building may have been the south wing of the second structure that was built in 1603 to replace the building of hunting, destroyed by fire in the mid-sixteenth century.  In the three and a half centuries later, after being owned by some noble Danish, Gråsten Palace was acquired by the state, was restored and in 1935 became the summer residence of the then Crown Prince Frederick, later King Frederik IX, and Crown Princess Ingrid, the future Queen Ingrid, who greatly adored the palace.

Queen Ingrid spent her holidays there with her husband, King Frederik IX and her daughters, Princess Margrethe (later Queen Margrethe II) Princess Benedikte and Anne -Marie (later Queen of Greece). In 1954 even the Dutch Royal Family spent the holidays in Grasten. Princess Margarethe and Princess Beatrix were both heirs to the throne of their respective countries

The residence offers a lot of entertainment including swimming pool, horses and you can enjoy long bike rides taking advantage of the large park available.

Usually Grasten is also used for the annual summer photoshoot, this year will be held on July 25, during their summer holiday, the full Royal family gathers in the large garden where will be taken beautiful family photos. I can't wait to see pictures this year!

Here a video from summer Photoshoot last year:

-In the end the Château de Cayx in Cahors, Southern France.

Château de Cayx is used as a second summer residence of the Royal Family. This is my favorite! Maybe because it reminds me of my childhood's summer holidays in the country house of my grandparents, i still spend most of my summer holidays there. Of course i don't have available a castle but many huge green spaces to run and have fun!

Château de Cayx, belonged to ancestors of Prince Henrik, the castle had already large wine cellars for wine production, in 1974 the royal couple bought the estate and restored it, still maintaining the production of wine of which Prince Henrik has great estimator.

Even Château de Cayx has been used to make some great family photos.

                                                             Norwegian Royal Family

If it's easy to find photos of some royal families on holiday, for others it's really hard! This is the case of the Norwegian royal family. The summer residence of the King and Queen of Norway is Bygdø Royal Farm.

After the death of King Olav, for years Bygdø it was no longer used, but since 2007 the King Harald and Queen Sonja have resumed the tradition of using Bygdø Royal Farm as a summer residence.

King Haakon of Norway with Queen Maud and Crown Prince Olav skiing at Bygdø Royal Farm, 1907

Bygdø Royal Farm was used by the Royal Norwegian almost continuously from 1305.  In 1905, when King Haakon VII and Queen Maud began using the farm as their permanent summer residence. They enjoyed the rural setting, and the Queen was able to pursue her interest in gardening.  Rehabilitation of he main house with its interiors and the park was begun in 2003 and finished in summer 2007, and King Harald and Queen Sonja will begin now using it as their summer residence

Crown Princely Family

                                              Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg

The Grand Ducal family own a holiday villa in Cabasson on the Côte d’Azur. It was purchased by the Grand Duchess Charlotte in 1949.

Unfortunately this is the only picture I could find :(  Soon the second part of the Royal summer residences!

Victoriadagen 2015 - Crown Princess Victoria celebrate her 38th birthday.

Day of celebration in Sweden to celebrate the 38th birthday of Crown Princess Victoria. As every year the festivities began to Solliden Castle where lots of people gathered to greet and honor the Princess.

Victoria accompanied by Prince Daniel, Princess Esetelle, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia greeted her subjects. King Carl Gustaf gave a short speech as well as Victoria did. After the Crown Princess shook many hands and received many gifts from people, it's so good to see the great affection that exists between ordinary people and the royal family, Victoria has taken a lot of time today to greet and talk about to everyone. But not just Victoria, the whole royal family has been very long time with their own subjects.

Princess Estelle is more and more beautiful, with a smile that lights up even a rainy day! She showed all her charms greeting the crowd like a real mini Queen! After, she spent time with her nanny.

It seems that Estelle has a new friend!

A cute video about Princess Estelle

Princess Victoria wore a floral dress by Ralph Lauren with a pink cardigan

At 18:30 the entire royal family arrived at Borgholms IP for Victoriadagen concert.

This was the first official appearence of Princess Madeleine since the birth of Prince Nicolas, which is expected to be baptized around the 15th of September at the Chapel of Drottningholm Slott. (no confirmation yet).  Medeleine looks very good, relaxed and happy as every new mom should be!

Even the newlyweds, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia were on their first official appearence after the wedding, the couple has just returned from their honeymoon. They seem so happy that you can see their aura of love and happiness!

Fortunately, this year the rain did not spoil the concert, Princess Victoria, always smiling, wearing a traditional dress, as well as Queen Silvia

The day after they watched a tennis match in Båstad.

Important day in England this week, on July 10 Queen Elizabeth and members of the Royal Family have appeared on the balcony to commemorate 75th Anniversary Of The Battle Of Britain.

But we will remember this day as the day when Prince Philip has lost patience! Exasperated by the expectation during a photo with the remaining Battle of Britain pilots the Duke of Edinburgh swears saying at the photographer "Just take the fucking picture!!"

Video and evident embarrassment of Prince William
