On June 10, 1982 Silvia, Queen of Sweden gives birth to her third and youngest daughter, Madeleine Therese Amelie Josephine Bernadotte, Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland.
Princess Madeleine was baptized on 31 August 1982 in the Royal Chapel.
Her godparents are Andreas, Prince of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, her maternal grandfather Walther Sommerlath, her father’s paternal cousin Princess Benedikte of Denmark, and her paternal aunt Princess Christina, Mrs. Magnuson.
The joy was immense... Another member of one of the most beautiful European Royal families!
Yesterday the British royal family has opened the first day of Royal Ascot, the most glamorous horse race in Britain. It is only five days, this year June 16 to 21
As tradition The Queen and the Royal Family members arrive in an open carriage
Her Majesty was wonderful with a fuchsia coat and hat, she wore a rubies brooch that belonged to the Queen Mother (initially i thought was new) isn't amazing?!?!?!
Again this year the chicest ( after Her Majesty) is her ... Sophie, Countess of Wessex! In a new hat Jane Taylor, dress Emilia Wickstead. I love the color, love the hat that fits perfectly! She's just a Lady!
Beatrice.... I love the shirt, the color I think is great about her, I particularly appreciate the lapel sleeve blue in contrast with the light green shirt, the skirt would be perfect, if only it were not for those huge balls in the middle!! (But that's just personal taste). I think I love those shoes!
Zara Phillips .... Perfect color on her! I like the dress that gives much to her figure, the fabric printing has small yellow flowers that I like a lot! The hat is perfect on her, I love flowers applications
Prince Charles and Camilla .... Overall I like the look of the Duchess, the color looks perfect for her. In recent years I have had to re-evaluate Camilla as a person and they both as a couple, they seem happy and in love and that's what counts in the end. The past can not be erased or forgotten. But this is the present ....and they seem serene.
Queen Margrethe of Denmark
She wore the red dress that had worn for the party of her 75th birthday and The Baden Palmette Tiara, perfect for a wedding, the tiara is composed of a pattern of small diamond hearts and flowers at the base with yellow stone in the center.
Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik
I really like the dress worn by Mary (as always).
I love this color and the large embroidery at the center of the dress makes it precious, she wore her wedding tiara and earrings (that she wore at her wedding too) and pearl bracelets - For the Swedish wedding the tiara were added the pearls.
Beautiful hairstyle, embellished with a jewel in the hairdo, although with a tuft so crushed on the face I would have risked having a nervous breakdown before the end of the evening!
Princess Marie of Denmark
Absolutely beautiful the color of this dress by Alberta Ferretti, her Diamond Tiara Floral and Jimmy Choo shoes (I'm not entirely sure about this but I think I have already seen these shoes on Marie).
Queen Sonja of Norway
Perhaps the Queen Sonja was afraid to go unnoticed .... so she decided to get spotted even from the space! ... she has previously worn this dress... and each time it's more and more horrible. To save the look (not much) Queen Maud's Pearl and Diamond Tiara
Princess Mette Marit of Norway
I have not yet figured out if I like this outfit. I think I really like her skirt, a little less the top. The Tiara is always the same: The Diamond Tiara Daisy, beautiful earrings diamond, the back is removable, in fact, the Princess has worn them in various combinations.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex
Sofia's dress is a gift she received during her recent trip to Prague, very beautiful and elegant in its simplicity. Really wonderful choice of jewel The Aquamarine Wessex Tiara that was a wedding gift from Prince Edward.
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands
To me she was the "perfection".
Perfect dress, the same worn the inauguration dinner of King Willem Alexander, by Jan Taminiau ( I love it!)
Perfect "Mellerio Ruby Parure" a combination of rubies and diamonds to make your head spin!
Even her hairdo in my opinion was very nice, Maxima looked out of a painting of '900 ... absolutely wonderful!
Queen Mathilde of Belgium
Very lovely color of her dress with a soft line and embellished by Diamond Brooch Pampille belonged to the Queen Fabiola and her Nine Provinces Tiara
Princess Tatiana of Greece
Tatiana has chosen a dress for Celia Kritharioti with applications and stones that seem to form rhombus on the skirt, very nice.
Her tiara is still unknown, perhaps a new or borrowed for the occasion, not too big, delicate and cute.
Very beautiful her earrings, three drops with central diamond.
Marie Hellqvist
She is not a Royal, Marie is mother of the bride, the new Princess of Sweden, Sofia Hellqvist.
Ms. Marie looks very stylish with her outfit, I love this color, very beautiful the lace top with applications.
If i was in her place, however, I would have made a quick jump in a hairdresser!
As promised here I'm here with the guests at the Royal Wedding.
Let's start with the Royal Family.
Queen Silvia after the blow that she have inflicted to us on the Pre Wedding Dinner has bounced back with a tailored suit with lace, embroidery and stones, very nice.
She wore the Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara, Extraordinarily beautiful!
Crown Princess Victoria
Quite surprising that Victoria chose a custom-made suit from H & M for a royal wedding ... on top of that the marriage of his brother! The original version is a skirt to which was added a top
Victoria wore for the first time the Connaught Tiara, we've already seen on Princess Madeleine, and beautifull pearl earrings.
Princess Madeleine
(Very pregnant) Princess Madeleine wore a dress by Elie Saab, excellent choice! Beautiful color on her! Princess has worn her Modern Fringe Tiara and Earrings Vasa, the same worn on the day of her wedding.
ohh I was forgetting .... Princess Leonore is ADORABLE!
The four sisters
The sisters of the King Carl Gustaf, nice and elegant ..... (some yes .... some slightly less)
Princess Margaretha in her fabulous Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara, Princess Christina with her Six Button Tiara, Princess Désirée, with a pink caftan, wore the Cut Steel Tiara and Princess Birgitta, who wins (again and again) the prize for the more "brave" look, with palazzo pants and a hip belt, wore the Baden Fringe Tiara.
Trooping The Colour is an annual event to celebrate the Sovereign’s birthday, this year has been a while in the background as in Sweden got married Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist (now Princess of Sweden).
But one thing is certainly not gone unnoticed .... for the first time we could see the Prince George to the balcony in the arms of dad William!
In fact Earl and Countess of Wessex were absent because they attend the wedding
But one thing is certainly not gone unnoticed .... for the first time we could see the Prince George to the balcony in the arms of dad William!
Actually George had already made his show behind the glass of Backingham Palace reminding to all the funny face of Uncle Harry in the arms of Princess Diana many years ago
So Sweet! It seems that Prince George was wearing the same blue outfit that even the Prince William wore on his debut in 1984 on the balcony! But isn't adorable?!?!
She wore a blue silk and ivory floral print coat dress by Catherine Walker and a new hat from Lock & Co. - the Marisabel.
Sinamay hat is accented with a feather curled.
Ah yes, another golden bachelor was caught!
Prince Carl Philip and Sofia celebrated their wedding in Stockholm. Much to comment so I don't waste time.
The couple so in love that I was moved a few times ... We already knew that the couple is outside the box, but today we had the confirmation ... how many of you would come out of the church with the musical background (not too "background") "The Hymn of Joy / Joyful, Joyful, We adore you"? Wonderful! ... Umbrella in Swedish? .... I love them!
Sofia's dress ...nothing exceptional in my opinion, a pattern already seen, it reminds me a certain English Duchess ... often we have seen that Sofia's look is similar to that of the Duchess of Cambridge.
However it is still a beautiful wedding dress, very classic with lace sleeves, embroidered lace on the skirt and also on the train, by Swedish designer Ida Sjöstedt.
Sofia has respected tradition wearing a sprig of myrtle in the hair and in the Bouquet.
Many of us, including me thought that the tattoo of Sofia would remain hidden ... but it was there and you could see
The news, instead, a beautiful tiara, wedding gift from King Carl gustaf and Queen Silvia, with diamonds and emeralds. I like it a lot! I imagined that she would have her own tiara, and this seems perfect for her.
Among the bridesmaids... the sweet Princess Estelle ... They worn clothes in pure silk and organza by Ida Sjöstedt too
Best moment, as usual the speeches, Prince Carl Philip received a standing ovation with his speech which you can find here
Sofia wrote the words of a song that was performed by a singer during the wedding reception:
"All I am, all I have. Until my last breath I will love you... All I have. All I want is to wake up close to you..."
"To be allowed to love you for all my days, with everything I have"
Finally cutting the cake! Almost a sculpture, very special and unconventional as the bride and groom would say ...
The evening ended with the traditional first dance of the newlyweds, Carl Philip and Sofia have opened the dance and then they invited all the other guests to join them
The song choice for the first dance
The party continued until 5:30 am. Sofia (now Princess of Sweden) changed dresses, it seems very nice!
Official Wedding Portraits
If you missed the ceremony and want to see it again, you can do it here with the entire ceremony
And here are the highlights of the day
A long and busy day!
I'm dead now! I will speak of the guests and their look later. :)
